Ford Finance’s securitized loan pools saw a drop in delinquency rates to 2.1% from 2.5% last quarter. This trend could support share price appreciation if sustained. Ford EV sales hit a record 30,612 in the quarter, up 30.2%, led by the Mach-E hitting 20,177 units sold, up a robust 50.7%. Ford said the F-150 Lightning hit a Q3 record 10,005 pickups sold, up nearly 40% and making it the bestselling EV pickup in the US, ahead of Rivian’s ( RIVN ) R1S and Tesla’s ( TSLA ) Cybertruck. "[BYD has] full support from the Chinese government ... they've been at this for 20 years," he said, adding the company has "a lot of good" intellectual property. Ford Finance is benefitting from a dip in wholesale vehicle inventories, which keeps finance demand robust. Equity markets see this as a tailwind for Q1 net interest income numbers.
